Top Ten Books I Classify As ALL TIME FAVORITE BOOKS from the past 5 years

I'm sure that all of you have heard of these books but here are the books that I've read in the past five years that I would classify as all time favorite books:
  1. The Fault In Our Stars by John Green - This is my favorite book of ALL TIME, not just the past five years. I find the characters and the story in general extremely relateable and I just love it.
  2. Divergent by Veronica Roth - This was such a great book... the rest of the series isn't as great, but this first one is definitely one of my favs.
  3. The Host by Stephanie Meyer - I like this way better than I liked the Twilight saga, if you didn't like Twilight I encourage you to give this one a try. It is soooo good. The movie sucked, but the book is fantastic.
  4. The Hunger Games by Suzanne Collins - Another one that I'm sure everyone has heard of. If you haven't picked this up yet... go get it.
  5. Matched by Ally Condie - Again, loved this first book, the rest of the series wasn't so great. But this first one really stands out as one of my favorites.
  6. Origin by Jessica Khoury - This was the first book by this author and I absolutely loved the story.
  7. Wings by Aprilynne Pike - A great fun fairy read. This series kept getting better and better as you read on.
  8. Girl Online by Zoe Sugg - I loved this one because again it is something that is extremely relateable, especially for me since I get panic attacks just like the character in the book.
  9. Paper Towns by John Green
  10. Vampire Academy by Richelle Mead - Another first in a series, this one does get better and better as you continue reading. And the spin-off series is fantastic as well.

Book Related Problems I Have

Top Ten Tuesday was created by: The Broke and the Bookish
Top Ten Book Related Problems I Have:

  1. Starting too many books at once - I always have so many books started and jump from one to another, I wish that I could just start one and finish it but it never seems to work out that way.
  2. Buying too many books - I think everyone feels like they buy too many books.
  3. Having no space to put books - I live in a very small house with my parents and I currently just have a tiny bookshelf to fit my collection on and they don't all fit on the shelf anymore. Many of my books now sit on a pile on my floor.
  4. Liking fictional boys more than real guys - So I tend to compare the guys I meet to characters in the books I read, even though I know that there is no way the boys will live up to the unrealistic expectations that authors have created. I just can't help wishing for a real life Augustus Waters!
  5. Wanting the collector's edition of books - Even if I already own the book and have read it, I still have to get the collector's edition.
  6. Wanting to buy book related merch - If I see merch of a book that I really like, I always want to get it.
  7. Owning too many bookmarks - I have way too many bookmarks, yet I still buy more.
  8. Quoting books irl - If there comes a moment in my daily life when I can quote a book, you better believe that I am going to say the quote.
  9. Talking about books too much - If there is a book that I'm really into, I tell everyone about it and I think I annoy the heck out of all my friends and family (especially the non-readers).
  10. Taking the stuff in books too seriously - There have been multiple times that I have cried while reading a book and I just need to step back (partially because I can't see the pages through my tears) and tell myself to calm down and not take it so seriously.

Ten Books I'd Love to Read If I Had A Book Club

  1. The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants by Ann Brashares - I still haven't read these books, and I think it would be so much fun to get together with a group of people and talk about them, and what we think will happen.
  2. Me and Earl and the Dying Girl by Jesse Andrews - I haven't read it, but I've heard that if you like The Fault in our Stars that you will like this book, and we all know how much I love tfios.
  3. Memoirs of a Teenage Amnesiac by Gabrielle Zevin - This book sounds interesting and seems like it could be a good one to discuss with other people.
  4. Kalahari by Jessica Khoury - I read both of her other books and feel like they would have been great to talk to someone about and hear other's opinions.
  5. Just One Day by Gayle Foreman - Again, haven't read it yet but think it would be fun to talk about with others.
  6. The Fault in Our Stars by John Green - I would love to read this with someone who hasn't read it yet and see what they think about it.
  7. Fangirl by Rainbow Rowell - Still haven't read this one, but heard it's supposed to be good.
  8. Dark Secrets series by Elizabeth Chandler - I think this one would be fun to discuss with others.
  9. Frostfire by Amanda Hocking - I love Amanda Hockings books and think it could be fun.
  10. Ruby Red by Kerstin Gier - Again, haven't read it yet and I think this one would be fun to read as a group.

Top Ten Goals/Resolutions For 2015

Top Ten Tuesday is an original feature/weekly meme created by The Broke and the Bookish

I hope everyone has a happy and healthy new year! I can't believe how fast 2014 flew by, it feels like it just started! This week's top ten Tuesday topic is goals and resolutions. These goals/resolutions are mostly, but not entirely, book related.
  1. Post more often - I've noticed that there are times when I remember to post more often than others. I'd like to try to find a happy medium. At least one post per week, hopefully more.
  2. I would once again like to read 52 books, I may have succeeded in doing this for the year 2014 (not sure yet, but I still have some time, it could happen!) so I would like to do that in 2015.
  3. Read more of the books that I already own and buy less books (Every book lover's dilemma! So many books, so little time!)
  4. Get a new bookshelf - Mine is overflowing and I could really use a new one!
  5. Win NaNoWriMo next year - this year was my first year participating in NaNoWriMo and I didn't win, but it was still very fun. So I would like to try to win in 2015.
  6. Have a healthy new year - I had a lot of health problems this past year, but now I am hoping to put that behind me and have a healthy new year!
  7. Try to stress less about the small things - I tend to be a very anxious person, and I need to learn how to calm down and not worry so much!
  8. Get better at playing guitar - I took guitar lessons this first semester of college, so I would like to continue learning on my own now that I am done with the lessons.
  9. Try something new - I think this is important, everyone should try new things.
  10. Lastly, Have a Happy New Year!

Top Ten Books I Wouldn't Mind Santa Bringing This Year

Top Ten Tuesday is an original feature/weekly meme created by The Broke and the Bookish

Christmas is almost here! I'm not going to lie, I asked for some of the books on this list for Christmas. Maybe Santa will bring them? Here are the top ten books I wouldn't mind Santa bringing this year:
  1. The Pointless Book by Alfie Deyes - This sounds like a fun activity book made by one of my favorite YouTubers.
  2. Anna and the French Kiss by Stephanie Perkins - I've heard a lot of good things about this book, so I would love to get it so I can read it.
  3. Legend by Marie Lu - Again, I've heard a lot of good things about this book, but I don't own it yet.
  4. Me and Earl and the Dying Girl by Jesse Andrews - I've heard that this book is similar to the Fault in our Stars and I loved that book, so I think I would like this one as well.
  5. Silver Shadows by Richelle Mead - I recently finished The Firey Heart and I don't own the next book in the series so I can't continue reading.
  6. The Evolution of Mara Dyer - I read the first on recently and would like to keep reading the series
  7. My True Love Gave to Me by various authors - This sounds like a fun read, it is 12 holiday stories and sounds like the perfect read for Christmas time.
  8. Eleanor and Park by Rainbow Rowell - I've heard a lot of good things about this one and it sounds like it would be a good read.
  9. The Coldest Girl in Coldtown by Holly Black - Again, sounds like a good read and I've heard a lot of good things about it.
  10. Dead is a Killer Tune by Marlene Perez - This is a part of a series of books that I really enjoyed and would like to continue.

Top Ten New-To-Me Authors I Read In 2014

Top Ten Tuesday is an original feature/weekly meme created by The Broke and the Bookish

I read a lot of books in the past year, but looking back I didn't read a large variety of authors. Most of the books I read this year were by Amanda Hocking and Richelle Mead. However, I did manage to find 8 other authors that were new to me besides these two. Not all of these authors really thrilled me, but some were very good. The first 5 are definitely my favorites of the new authors and then it kind of goes downhill from there in my opinion.
  1. Amanda Hocking
  2. Richelle Mead
  3. Veronica Roth
  4. Zoe Sugg
  5. Becca Fitzpatrick
  6. Jay Asher
  7. Mizue Tani
  8. Milk Morinaga
  9. Todd Burpo
  10. Jon Krakauer

Top Ten Books I'm Looking Forward To In 2015

Top Ten Tuesday is an original feature/weekly meme created by The Broke and the Bookish

The year is coming to an end so quickly! Here are the top ten books I am looking forward to in 2015. The first 6 are new books that will be coming out and the last 4 are just random books that I am looking forward to reading in the new year:
  1. The Ruby Circle by Richelle Mead - I have been loving the Bloodlines series lately. I just finished reading The Firey Heart and I can't wait to start Silver Shadows and then finish the series with The Ruby Circle. I am sad that the series will be coming to an end though.
  2. Frostfire by Amanda Hocking - I have read quite a few books by Amanda Hocking this year and I have enjoyed all of them, so I am looking forward to this new one.
  3. Sapphire Skies by Becca Fitzpatrick - I liked the first two books in the Hush Hush series and this one sounds even better than those.
  4. Sweet Sixteen by Jennifer Lynn Barnes - I loved the Raised by Wolves trilogy so I'm excited to get to see some of Lake's point of view.
  5. The Fixer by Jennifer Lynn Barnes - Like I said, I loved the Raised by Wolves trilogy so I would like to read more of her books.
  6. Zoe Sugg might be coming out with a new book next year. Right now it doesn't have a title but perhaps it will be a sequel to her first book that just came out?
  7. Speaking of Zoe Sugg's new book, I plan on reading Girl Online in the new year if not before the new year ;)
  8. I also would like to get Zoe's boyfriend's book The Pointless Book by Alfie Deyes, this book is already out but I don't own it yet. It is more of an activity book and not a story.
  9. Icing on the Lake by Catherine Clark - This seems like a good book to read during the winter time near New Years
  10. Cinder by Marissa Meyer - I've heard that this series is really good, so I plan on reading it in the new year!

Ten Places Books Have Made Me Want To Visit

Top Ten Tuesday is an original feature/weekly meme created by The Broke and the Bookish

This week's topic is ten places books have made me want to visit. These places can be real of fictional. My first 7 are real places and my last 3 are (unfortunately) not.

  1. Amsterdam - this should be obvious considering how much I love John Green's book The Fault in Our Stars. I would love to go to Amsterdam and visit all the places that Hazel and Augustus went on their trip, including the Anne Frank museum.
  2. England - I read 13 Little Blue Envelopes by Maureen Johnson and the main character, Ginny, travels around the world, basically on a scavenger hunt that her aunt planned. Her first stop is London. I would love to see all of the things that this gorgeous old city has to offer.
  3. France - Again, this is one of the many places Ginny went in her travels. I would love to see the Eiffel Tower, the Louvre, and eat some real french food.
  4. Russia - One of the Vampire Academy books has a part where Rose visits Russia. I would like to go there one day.
  5. Palm Springs - The Bloodlines series by Richelle Mead mostly takes place in Palm Springs.
  6. The Amazon - One of my favorite books, Origin by Jessica Khoury took place in the Amazon. It seems like such a beautiful and amazing place.
  7. Forks Washington - Because Twilight, enough said.
  8. Hogwarts - Because who wouldn't want to go to Hogwarts?
  9. Skin Island - From the book Vitro by Jessica Khoury. This Island is filled with mystery, and seems like it could be an interesting place to visit.
  10. Vampire Academy - I think this would be an extremely interesting place to visit, as long as I was not being used as a feeder.

Top Ten Popular Authors I've Never Read

Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly meme created by The Broke and the Bookish Blog
Hello everyone! I thought I would participate in Top Ten Tuesday this week. I've see other people's post with Top Ten Tuesday and thought it looked fun and that I would give it a try. This week's topic is: top ten popular authors I've never read, so here they are in no particular order:

  1. Lauren Oliver - I do own Delirium by Lauren Oliver, but I have not read it yet
  2. Markus Zusak - I don't own any of his books, and I'm not planning to read them. They just don't seem interesting to me.
  3. Cassandra Clare - I own City of Bones and I plan on reading it sometime soon. If I like it I will most likely read the rest of The Mortal Instruments series and probably the Infernal Devices series as well.
  4. Maggie Stiefvater - I don't own any of her books, I might buy one someday.
  5. Kami Garcia - I own the first two books in the Caster Chronicles series and I do plan on reading them soon, but there's just too many books and too little time!
  6. Laini Taylor - I don't own any of her books, but I've heard really good things about them.
  7. Ransom Riggs - Again, I don't own any of his books, but I've heard good things.
  8. Rainbow Rowell - I've heard really great things about her books, but I don't own any.
  9. Stephanie Perkins - Also heard good things about, but don't own. I would like to read her books though, they sound interesting.
  10. Marie Lu - I've heard great things about the Legend trilogy. I don't own them, but they sound interesting and seem like they might be something I would like.
