Number of Pages Read Today: 20
Total Number of Pages Read: 230

Total Number of Pages Read: 435
Thoughts/other updates for the day: I read 25 pages of Vitro during my study hall today in school. I read 34 pages of Bliss when I got home, it's getting really interesting. Then I decided that I was getting a little tired of reading mostly the same thing and picked up Girlfriends Volume 4 because I knew it would be a quick fun read. I had started this before the read-a-thon and finished it today. I started Girlfriends Volume 5 and will hopefully finish it tomorrow and continue with Bliss.

Thoughts/other updates for the day: I read 139 pages of Girlfriends, Volume 5  by Milk Morinaga and finished it toady. I also read 20 pages of Bliss. I was hoping to read more today because I know that I won't have time tomorrow, but I had a lot of stuff I had to do today. Tomorrow is senior prom at my school, so I don't expect to do much reading.

Currently reading: Bliss by Lauren Myracle, Vitro by Jessica Khoury
Number of Pages Read Today: 116
Total Number of Pages Read: 754
Thoughts/other updates for the day: Didn't get a lot of reading done today either. I thought I would have more time, but things come up. I don't think I'm going to make it to my goal because  I've just been so busy this week. But I still have tomorrow.

Sunday

Books completed: Girlfriends, Volume 4  by Milk Morinaga, Girlfriends, Volume 5  by Milk Morinaga
Currently reading: Bliss by Lauren Myracle, Vitro by Jessica Khoury
Number of Pages Read Today: 36
Total Number of Pages Read: 790
Thoughts/other updates for the day: Didn't get much reading done at all on this last day of the read-a-thon. I'm kind of disappointed that I didn't really come close to my goal. But I did know I would be busy this week with my school's prom and everything, so I'm not surprised. I'm happy because I read more than a usually do this week and it was fun so that's all that matters! I will be continuing to read Bliss and Vitro and probably with start the other books I had on my TBR for the read-a-thon that I didn't get to.

Library Book Sale Book Haul!

A local library had a book sale recently so I thought I would share the books that I got.

I found the first three books in a series and I got them because the price was so cheap! They are part of the Septimus Heap series. I got Magyk, Flyte, and Physik by Angie Sage. It follows a character named Septimus Heap who is the seventh son of a seventh son and has magical powers.

I also got Peaches by Jodi Lynn Anderson. This is the first book in a trilogy, I believe. It is about three girls who have gotten into trouble and have to pick peaches at an orchard in Georgia as punishment.

Then I got Bergdorf Blondes by Plum Sykes and Blue Moon by Hila Feil. Bergdorf Blondes is about a girl living in the upper class and the problems she faces. Blue Moon is about a girl named Julia who is going to be an au pair for the summer and then thinks the house is haunted.

I also found book one of a manga series. It's called The Earl and the Fairy by Mizue Tani and Ayuko. I was really excited to find this because most of the time I can't find the first book in a manga series at a book sale. Usually it's the 3rd or the 5th one by itself. I already started reading this and I can't wait to find the next one in the series.

I can't wait to read all these books! They all sound so interesting and hopefully I can get to them soon!

Dewey's 24 Hour Read-A-Thon Wrap-Up

Hello everyone! Dewey's 24 hour read-a-thon is over. Did you stay up the whole time? I didn't! But I did spend a lot of time reading and got a lot of reading done.

So, since I didn't post any hourly updates during the read-a-thon, I thought I would make this wrap-up post to share what I read.

I started on page 366 of Allegiant by Veronica Roth and finished the book for a total of 160 pages of that. This was a good book, but not quite as good as the first one. If you are interested to know more of what I thought you can click here for my book review of it.
I also finished Crescendo by Becca Fitzpatrick and read from page 315 to the end for a total of 110 pages.
I read 199 pages of Betrayal by Robin Wasserman during the read-a-thon. I had read 10 pages before the read-a-thon started.
Lastly I started Vitro by Jessica Khoury and read 49 pages.

For a total of 518 pages during the read-a-thon!

I am very happy with how well I did during the read-a-thon. I want to thank everyone who put the read-a-thon together and helped keep it going for the whole 24 hours. I had so much fun reading and I'm so glad I decided to participate!

Dewey's Read-A-Thon Mid-Event Survey

We are halfway through Dewey's 24 hour read-a-thon! 12 hours to go!

Mid-Event Survey

1. What are you reading right now?
Betrayal by Robin Wasserman
2. How many books have you read so far?

I have finished Allegiant by Veronica Roth and Crescendo by Becca Fitzpatrick, both I had already started before the read-a-thon began
3. What book are you most looking forward to for the second half of the Read-a-thon?

I'm looking forward to starting Vitro by Jessica Khoury.
4. Did you have to make any special arrangements to free up your whole day?

No, I lucked out and didn't have any plans for the day. It also ended up being a rainy day which I think is perfect for staying inside and reading. I guess I could be doing homework, but I'll save that for tomorrow :)
5. Have you had many interruptions? How did you deal with those?

I have had several interruptions, but I just continued reading as soon as I could!
6. What surprises you most about the Read-a-thon, so far?

How supportive everyone is to each other, I think it's great.
7. Do you have any suggestions for how to improve the Read-a-thon next year?

No, keep up the good work!
8. What would you do differently, as a Reader or a Cheerleader, if you were to do this again next year?

I think I would sign up earlier and just get more excited to read.
9. Are you getting tired yet?

I'm not too tired yet, but it is only a little after 7 pm where I live and I started at 8 am. I'm sure I will be getting tired soon!
10. Do you have any tips for other Readers or Cheerleaders, something you think is working well for you that others may not have discovered?

I think if you can find someone you know to join in the read-a-thon with you it might be fun. I told my mom about it this morning and she decided to participate also. It's been nice sharing how much we've read and encouraging each other to keep on reading.
