What to Expect in 2014

Hello everyone! Happy New Year!

Today I would like to talk about what to expect to see on this blog in 2014.

One of my resolutions for the new year is to post more on my blog. I hope to have a new post at least once a week (Hopefully it will be twice a week but let's not push it). These post will be about a variety of things including beauty products, nail polish, and book reviews. I am very excited to start posting more.

Violet VoxBox

Hello everyone! I was very excited when I received an email a few weeks ago saying I might be getting the Violet VoxBox from Influenster. A few days ago I received my box in the mail.

If you don't know, Influenster is a website where a community of people review and share products. On the site you earn badges based on the things you review and sometimes you get the opportunity to be rewarded with a VoxBox. A VoxBox is a box filled with products from brands that would like to share their products for testing and review. I received these products complimentary for testing purposes from Influenster.

I received four items in my Violet VoxBox (pictured above). I got a SoyJoy bar in the flavor banana, a Sally Hansen triple shine nail polish in the color "Play Koi", A goody athletique headband, and a goody quikstyle hairbrush. 

SoyJoy bars are gluten-free and baked with real fruit and ground whole soy beans. I had never tried SoyJoy before so I was very excited to try them. I was happy to get the banana flavor because I love banana flavored things. The taste was similar to banana bread. I think it was a little dry but it tasted good. If you don't like banana flavored things there are other flavors as well. I would recommend trying it if you think you might like it.

The nail polish was probably my favorite thing I received in my VoxBox. I love getting new nail polishes and I didn't have a color like this one before. "Play Koi" is an orange/red color that really does remind me of a koi fish. I really like the brush for this polish. The brush is flat and wider than other brushes and makes the polish apply very easily. The polish lasted about a week before chipping. It is very shiny, it definitely lives up to the name "triple shine". I would definitely purchase other colors from this line.

The goody athletique headband has velcro on it so you can adjust it to fit around your head. I like using it to keep my hair out of my face while I wash my face. I don't think it's anything special, it's basically just a headband and it does do it's job of keeping hair out of your face.

I was excited to try the hairbrush from goody. It supposedly helps your hair dry with absorbent microfibers. It claims to remove 30% of water. I tried using the brush after towel drying my hair. It did remove some water, I don't think it was 30% though. I do like that I can use this brush when my hair is still wet because my hair gets easily tangled and it's nice to brush it out before it dries.

Overall I was very happy with the products I received in the Violet VoxBox.
